Our Operating Principles

Be an organization of Collaboration, Integrity, and Effective Communication to deliver value to our members.

Utilize quality data to be an effective and efficient fact-based decision-making organization.

Safety, health and the environment are moral obligations and should be at the forefront of everything we do. Over the next five years, we will be pushing to…

• Increase STEP participation from 50% to 85%

• Increase safety committee contractor participation from 8% to 20%

• Increase OSHA partnerships from 12 to 16 members.

Pillar #2 Political Advocacy

Become the primary resource for elected officials before and after elections, support candidates based on their merit shop philosophy, regardless of party affiliation, increase membership participation in the PAC and financial support for the FEA, and amplify supported candidate visibility among the membership.

Pillar #3 Workforce Development

• Grow high school contractors’ participation and involvement with our current 66 high schools from 33% to 100%
• Increase “Hire Smart” participation to include 100 contractors by 2028
• Increase entry point programs from 6 to 8.
• Increase participation with student chapters. We currently have student chapters on the campus of Texas A&M University, The University of Houston, Stephen F. Austin University, Sam Houston State University and Prairie View A&M University.
• Increase media and marketing impressions
