    Diversity & Inclusion

    The Diversity & Inclusion Committee (D&I) is responsible for evaluating, recommending, and implementing D&I programs and trainings, working with related committees to make D&I an integral part of ABC, informing the membership of D&I developments, and conducting campaigns to increase member awareness of the need to operate in a diverse and inclusive manner.
  • Meets the 4th Thursday of Each Month at 9:00am. Breakfast Provided. Virtual option available via Zoom, sent in monthly meeting invites.

    Young Professionals

    The ABC Greater Houston Young Professionals Committee promotes the construction industry through student outreach, markets, and manages ABC’s Scholarship Foundation, plans and participates in community service projects, facilitates the professional development of members, and above all, is an avenue for industry networking.
  • Meets 2nd Wednesday of Each Month. Meetings alternate between the ABC office and at local bars/restaurants followed by happy hours for socializing and networking.

    Associated Builders and Contractors of Greater Houston Women’s Peer Group represents the interests of women within the construction industry and assists with increasing the quality and availability to women that will promote a positive image to other women within and outside of the industry.

    Vision
    1)To assist women who are presently in the industry through education, community, and networking programs, and 2) To provide a channel for women to enter the industry workforce.

    Shares best practices, monitors union activity, studies industry trends, and provides educational content for commercial contractors.

    HUMAN RESOURCES COMMON PRACTICES
    Provide HR representatives of ABC member companies with an avenue to share best practices and discuss new/revised regulations that impact their direct operations. The committee will provide an opportunity for legal counsel members of ABC to provide quarterly updates on changing regulations.

    LOGIC – Ladies Operating for Growth in Construction
    The ABC Women’s Peer Group represents the interests of women within the construction industry: protecting, inspiring, and assisting with increasing the quality and availability of women entering the industry. The committee will promote a positive image of the industry to other women within and outside of the industry.

     OSHA PARTNERSHIP
    A strategic partnership with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration with the overall goal of maintaining a relationship that focuses on preventing fatalities, controlling or eliminating serious hazards, and improving the safety management system. (Open to ABC-OSHA Partners only.)

    SAFETY
    Investigates new safety information and programs, provides members with safety information, monitors safety curriculum of ABC, develops safety documents and manuals for member use and encourages STEP participation.
