Why Contractors Join ABC Houston

ABC/CMEF works for my training needs. By offering community-based training through ABC’s educational affiliate, CMEF, I feel confident that we are sending our employees to the best industry-recognized training and upskill programs. ABC/CMEF tailors training to our needs and helps us have a better-qualified workforce. In an industry where safety is the most important, I know that our employees are getting the best training and will be safer on the jobsite. I recommend ABC/CMEF for its training endeavors and believe ABC/CMEF will work for you, too.
Brandon Mabile, Business Development Manager at Performance Contractors
I am proud to have had the opportunity to serve on the ABC/CMEF Board of Directors for over 20 years. Both Associated Builders and Contractors of Greater Houston and the Construction & Maintenance Education Foundation are committed to supporting craft training and workforce development in the Houston region. ABC/CMEF has given me the privilege to serve on a board that values the growth and enhancement of its members while investing in the people who help make this association feel like home. These efforts are important to the future of our industry, and I confidently believe that ABC will work for you, too.
Rusty Barnhill, Force Corporation
I have been a very active member of ABC/CMEF for the last 10 years or so. I believe this organization is the very best construction trade group. They are first class and very professional in all aspects of representing our industry. ABC/CMEF offers many programs we find to be most beneficial to our company. Among these are craft training, professional development training, networking events, and the Political Action Committee. One very tangible asset we have received from our membership in ABC/CMEF is the continual improvement in our Safety programs due to our longtime participation in the STEP program. I believe the STEP program was, and continues to be, the catalyst to achieving true safety excellence for our company.
Sam Craig, Craig & Heidt, Inc.
I have had the pleasure to serve on the ABC/CMEF Board of Directors for two years and on the ABC Executive Board for one year. During my time with the association, my staff and I have had the opportunity to meet and network with great subcontractors, vendors, general contractors, and companies involved in the construction industry. ABC has also given our young staff the opportunity to meet peers in the industry through their Young Professional Committee. These relationships have helped us grow our market share in the Houston market.
